‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Season 5 Episode 10 Recap
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Teresa and Joe Gorga go to therapy! Unfortunately, after seeing the therapist, they wind up therapissed. Sorry, couldn’t resist. In other news, Ashlee still completely sucks and Teresa tries to start a fight between Kathy and my beloved Rosie. Luckily, Kathy takes action and decides it’s time for Rosie to take control of her love life. Take a look at my favorite scenes from this week’s episode!
The Giudice girls are helping Juicy Joe build the garage, and are stuccoing it.Why are they stuccoing anything like the garage is an Italian restaurant in the 1950′s? Teresa talks about going to therapy with her brother and says if it doesn’t work, she wants a refund. She probably needs one, thinks her financial planner and the cynics of America. Joe proceeds to gross the world out by parting the stucco like a vagina, then proclaiming that Rosie would “like this.” Lovely.
Look at Rosie, pullin’ up in the Beemer like a boss! Rosie’s brave and clearly has no qualms about confronting Teresa about the magazine articles about her sister.
OH NO SHE DIDN’T! Teresa says that Kathy left Rosie out because she hated the fact that she was a lesbian. Teresa then asks Rosie if she remembers the way Kathy treated her and Rosie is silent. Those are fighting words!
Side note: I loved that the Bravo editing gods zoomed in on Rosie’s unmanicured fingernails fidgeting when she tells Teresa she felt like she never fit in. Ohhhh, the juxtaposition!
I, too, was shocked that Teresa admitted she “might be doing something wrong” in her approach to her relationship with the Gorgas. I was also shocked when Joe said - for the second time – that he is an angel from God. If he is talking about similarity in size to an adorable cherub, I would have to agree.
What a sticky situation, going on a trip with everyone on the show after all that’s happened. I don’t think that would go well at all.
Kathy says she would like to go to a gay bar, and Rich is suspicious. Kathy said Rich has gone to a gay bar. I’m sure he was the belle of the ball with his virile chest hair peeking out of his unbuttoned shirt.
Lauren gave a low blow when she said that “some people” are jealous of the woman their brothers end up with. I also never noticed that in addition to looking like her dad, she sounds exactly like him, too! Go back and listen!
Ashlee has a tattoo of a skull to remind her of a bar she used to hang out in. Apparently, Ashlee has taken this “YOLO” thing a little too far.
Caroline is very insightful when she said that maybe Ashlee’s making radical changes in her appearance so she won’t look like her mother. It is incredible how much she and Jacqueline look alike. Caroline, you son of a gun, you’ve done it again!
I am inclined to believe Kathy’s side of her relationship with Rosie, but even if it took her a while to get used to the idea of her sister being gay, she’s entitled to that transition period. The important thing is that she supports her now.
I felt very privileged to hear Kathy and Rosie’s mother’s story about living with her aunt. She seems like a wonderful, kind, strong woman. From what I know about families from that time period, especially Italian families, it seems like a pretty common story. Also, was anyone else reminded of Martin Scorsese’s mother in Goodfellas?
Milania is my idol and I love how she doesn’t take any bullshit – not even from her parents. Like she would even go to her room! NOBODY puts Milania in the corner! “Bitch, please” were her first words.
Teresa is doing exactly what Jacqueline wanted her to do: distancing herself from her. So I don’t know what else she wants from her. Next!
Joe notices his sister is wearing red and tells her that’s a sexy color. At least they’re in a therapist’s office. That comment should be first on the agenda.
I wondered if they chose to go to a therapist in NYC, as opposed to Jersey, because they wanted to find the one therapist in the tri-state area who didn’t watch the show – or if this therapist was comped by Bravo.
Kathy, Heather, and Rosie go to a gay bar, and Kathy looks absolutely gorgeous, maybe the best I’ve ever seen her. Having met Rosie and chatted with her, I think any woman would be lucky to have her. She’s truly a very nice, down-to-earth girl. And I love seeing Kathy playing matchmaker, having to broker the exchange of numbers between the girls!
WHERE the fuck is Joe going in that pink shirt and tie: therapy or performing at Chippendales?
I think both Teresa and Joe are telling the truth – as they see it. They both have grievances and it’s possible for them to both be right. I think the whole problem is with each other’s spouses and bringing up the past.
I love Teresa wanting to prove the therapist wrong – and telling him just that. He’s like, “Thanks for the money, you freakin’ morons.” I also love that they get into an argument in the waiting room of the therapist office. And DON’T even get started on Tre’s outfit in the aside interview, with her hair ten feet high like Cruella DeVille! Can’t wait to see how this Napa Valley trip goes…

I think Gia is an amazing kid too, too bad some one poestd nasty things about the kids earlier tonight. I felt bad that they showed how heart broken Gia is about everything, I guess not every thing is scripted after all, I don’t think she was acting when she was crying tonight
