‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

On this episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, we had to deal with the aftermath of the blow-out from last week’s episode. Teresa is feeling wronged by Jacqueline, Jacqueline has inexplicably locked herself in a room to deal with her grief, and Caroline is butting her nose into everyone’s business. Innocent Kathy is listening to everyone’s problems and Melissa is having a (second?) debut party for her “On Display” one-hit-wonder. Check out my favorite scenes from this week’s episode!

I’m sure Jacqueline would appreciate you bringing up her last marriage, Chris.

WTF. WHY are Jacqueline and Chris so hurt by Teresa and Joe? Because they don’t want to talk about their financial or legal troubles with them? It’s none. Of their. Business.  I never thought I never thought I would be defending Teresa and Joe, because, let’s face it, they’re an easy target.

Teresa went to Dina’s? Ooooo, girl! Where are the cameras when you need them?

Joe’s reaction to the magazines claiming that Teresa is going to jail, “Oh, whatever, who cares?” I’m inclined to believe the Giudices over the magazines, because they do not seem fazed at all.

Kathy meets Teresa for lunch but she is still having reservations about Teresa’s true intentions for trying to forge a friendship. I love the way Kathy says the word “but.” “Buh.”

Woah, woah, WOAH. I noticed that the outfit Teresa was wearing to the lunch with Kathy was the very same outfit she was wearing when I interviewed her back in June 2011. The day I interviewed her was very warm out, so I was first wondering why she was wearing a sweater dress and scarf when I met her. Also, when I asked her, “What is your relationship like now with all the other housewives?”, Teresa responded, “Great! Everything’s great. I’ve always been the closest with Jacqueline [Laurita]… Jacqueline and [former housewife] Dina [Manzo]. Caroline [Manzo] was always Dina’s older sister, but I love Caroline and respect her, and everything’s good.” This was all after that fight at Jacqueline’s! The timing… the timing! (And I don’t think it’s possible that this was filmed on a different day, because if her credit card receipts prove anything, it’s that she doesn’t repeat outfits.) So meta…

Melissa’s song is being played on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, and I guess he made no bones about not loving the autotune, because even Melissa was aware that he wasn’t a fan of the song.

Teresa consults with Joe about seeing a therapist with her brother. Shocker: he’s not on board with the idea. He also has to end the scene insulting Joe Gorga’s masculinity. Come on, Giudice, we are trying to help you out here!

Almost a nip-slip! Lucky us…

I was confused, like the Manzo boys, about Melissa’s party for “On Display,” because I seem to remember that happening last season. How much can they squeeze out of one song?

I love that Kathy isn’t automatically bowing down to Caroline’s opionion of Teresa and is calling Caroline’s actions hurtful. She is right that Caroline should wait and see what happens with Teresa. I have a psychic feeling that if ever Teresa were to leave the show, it would be Kathy vs. Caroline for top Mama Bear spot. I like a girl who can challenge Mama Manzo!

Teresa tells her brother she is open to going to therapy with him, and he wonders if an alien has invaded her body.

Melissa’s song plays for us for the zillionith time and yet, the only interesting thing in the room is the Teresa drama. Once again, Melissa doesn’t sing her song live, and opts for the DJ to play it. I… can’t.

Jacqueline approaches Teresa, and I’m still Team Teresa. How can Jacqueline claim to be so hurt after all the horrible accusations she made about T to her face? I just don’t understand where Jacqueline is coming from. She escalated the argument at her house; Teresa was smiling and deferring the entire time.

The Big C (Caroline… what were you thinking?) takes it upon herself to inform Joe Gorga of the most recent Tre drama. Joe stays loyal to Teresa, like a good brother should. I don’t know that Caroline should have been the one to tell Joe about the rift with Teresa, but Caroline looks like she’s been sippin’ some of the Sunday sauce, if you know what I mean.

I just have to say I totally disagree with Jacqueline and Chris: Teresa wasn’t trying to bring Danielle Staub back into their lives. She’s allowed to have her own relationship with Danielle, but it’s not even a relationship! It was a few tweets back and forth between enemies. Lighten up!

Melissa walks over innocently, not realizing her ass is about to be caught in the middle. If she only knew how pissed Teresa was at her! Melissa was definitely wrong to talk to Danielle, and Teresa has every right to mad at her, but I can see where Melissa was coming from. She made a big mistake, but she’s not a bad person. Teresa seems like she’s finally coming around by forgiving Melissa.

I couldn’t believe that Jacqueline said, “Fuck you,” and walked away! Down, girl.

Jacqueline proceeds to rail against Teresa to Chris. She seems so upset by the whole thing, but I still feel like a lot of the fight was her fault. By the way, who saw her on Watch What Happens Live last night? I am not feeling the blonde!

All of a sudden, Teresa is besties with her estranged family. Let’s just see how long this lasts…
